We are excited to share that our Arts Directory has expanded to now include incredible local artist, illustrator, writer, puppeteer, and performer extraordinaire- Kevin Sherry!  You may recognize him from his well known collection of children’s books series including “The Yeti Files,” “Squidding Around,” to “Remy Sneakers”, and his picture books “I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean,” “I’m the Best Artist in the Ocean,” and “Turtle Island.”  And now Partner Schools in Arts Every Day’s Schools Program can bring the fun and excitement of Mr. Sherry’s world to the classroom!

Intended for K-8 students, Mr. Sherry’s program gives classrooms insight into the inspiration behind his work and process as both a writer and illustrator with the added “razzle-dazzle” of live guitar and puppetry performances. Characters from his stories come to life right before the students’ eyes as they explore core curriculum concepts like Career and Technology Education, English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Library and Media combined with art forms like Creative Writing, Dance and Movement, Digital Arts/Media, Music, Theater, Visual Art and Design, Puppetry, Storytelling.

Arts Every Day is very excited to be able to bring Kevin Sherry to Baltimore City Public Schools and we hope that his enthusiasm and talent will spark the imaginations of and inspire the next generation of writers and illustrators!
