Soles of Imagination is a black-owned non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals through designing sneakers aligned to their dreams. We are thrilled to introduce their Young Entrepreneurs Sneaker Design Workshop, where students can become entrepreneurs by expressing their ambitions through the art they create. Educators can embark on this creative journey together with Soles of Imagine on their page in our Arts Directory. Today, we’ll take a closer look at the Young Entrepreneurs Sneaker Design Workshop!
What can educators expect from the Young Entrepreneurs Sneaker Design Workshop?
Through the program, students will manage the entire brand process, including creating color concepts, selecting a brand/shoe name, and finding the right look and price for their brand. Either as a team or individually, students can begin their actual sneaker brand. Students are encouraged here to use their imagination and create something unique. What would it feel like for this dream to come true? How would you see yourself? How would the world see you?
At the conclusion of the course, we have students who now walk in the spirit of the dream desired.
How is this program an arts integration lesson?
This workshop teaches different forms of art as well as problem solving. They can share a design that is meaningful to them. This workshop also allows students to get positive feedback on their art. The students walk away with their own product they designed to sell or wear.
Why should teachers and students be excited about the Young Entrepreneurs Sneaker Design Workshop?
This workshop touches on several things. Entrepreneurship, imagination, product creation, design, painting, and coming up with a plan.
Anything else teachers should know about the Young Entrepreneurs Sneaker Design Workshop?
I will provide a shoe print out for the students to work on prior to the workshop. I will teach them how to transfer those ideas to the shoes. I need teachers to collect the shoe sizes of the students participate.
