• After years of decline, Baltimore City added 28 new fine arts teacher positions across the district resulting in a 15% increase in access to certified arts educators. See our Dec. 10, 2019 data presentation to the School Board of Commissioners.

  • The National Endowment for the Arts announced a $100,000 grant to support implementation of the Fine Arts Plan. The T. Rowe Price Foundation and MECU provided a second year of support for the Baltimore Arts Education Initiative. 

  • Arts Every Day purchased $30k in arts supplies, equipment, and musical instruments for schools that expanded Fine Arts staffing. 

  • In collaboration with the Baltimore City Fine Arts Office, Arts Every Day launched a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to support new arts teachers. 

  • Convening of an Advisory Committee and Instrumental Music Working Group.

  • Launch of the Artlook Maryland, a comprehensive, statewide arts education data map in collaboration with our statewide advocacy partner Arts Education in Maryland Schools. 

  • Launch of the Baltimore Artist Series, video and curricular resources to help teachers connect learning to Baltimore’s thriving local artist community. 

  • Working Group reports on Instrumental Music expansion and High School depth of study in the Fine Arts.
