Join the Bmore Youth Arts Advocacy Council to become one of 8 youth creative leaders as we create a public awareness campaign, meet with state and local leaders, and make the case for arts education. Those accepted will be part of a life changing experience to network and engage with other youth activists who are also speaking up for arts education in their schools.  Did you know that every student in the state of Maryland has a right to an arts education? Maryland Regulation (COMAR 13A.014) requires that school systems in Maryland provide K-12 students with classes and experiences in dance, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts, but not every school is meeting these requirements.   To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be able to commit to meeting weekly for a total of up to 4 hours per week from September 2021 – June 2022
  • Have access to a computer/tablet/phone with reliable internet access as meeting will be virtual
  • Have parental/guardian consent to participate
  • Be over 15 years of age

Selected candidates will receive a stipend of $15/hour

Deadline for submissions: September 13, 2021

Selected candidates will be notified by September 17, 2021

The council’s first meeting will begin on September 22, 2021
