Expand your teaching skills, connect with other early career teachers, and receive mentorship by a veteran teacher through the Early Career Arts Teachers Fellowship!

Eligibility:

  • Must be a certified or conditionally certified teacher in your 1st through 3rd year of teaching at a Baltimore City Public School
  • Attend all four in-person content meetings 
  • Communicate with your mentor on a consistent basis
  • Bring a growth mindset and a willingness to connect and build community

 

Participating teachers receive:

  • $400 stipend (limited availability) for full participation
  • Four sessions focused on content, best teaching practices, connecting to their role and purpose
  • Virtual check-ins/office hours
  • Classroom observation 
  • Mentorship from a veteran arts teacher in your discipline area
  • Priority consideration for the Arts Every Day Equipment Fund: funding for music equipment/instrument requests of up to $5,000

 

Meetings will take place in-person (Location TBD) on the following dates: 

  • Welcome Breakfast: September 26th, 10am-noon (Baltimore Unity Hall, 1505 Eutaw Place)
  • Session 1: October 24th, 10am-2pm
  • Session 2: January 23rd, 10am-2pm
  • Session 3: March 6th, 10am-2pm
  • Session 4: May 1st, 10am-2pm

 

Teachers are also invited to the following:

  • Holiday Happy Hour: December 16th, 4-7pm, Location TBD
  • End-of-Year Celebration: June 2nd, 4-7pm, Location TBD
