We are so excited to be sharing Yoga in Classrooms and Schools Consulting as our next Arts and Cultural Partner Spotlight post! Attendees from our Summer Arts Integration Conference may remember founder Emily Fleming’s engaging session that showcased multiple ways to build mindfulness into classrooms, and now that expertise is available to schools through the “Mindfulness As A Means for Creativity” professional development program! According to Emily,

In this professional development session, teachers will learn how to infuse mindfulness into their existing curriculum and arts integrated projects – and this includes art teachers! Arts integration is about the incorporation of arts techniques and skills (and assessment of them) at all stages, and this workshop will help teachers prepare their students to think outside the box and tap into their own creativity during the creative process.

This PD is available virtually or in-person and can be customized to meet the needs of your school’s staff and students. Through this session, teachers will see how incorporating mindfulness can be an approachable and engaging way to help students (and teachers!) get their creative juices flowing and move with intention. Further, the last few years have really underscored the importance of social emotional learning for students, and mindfulness can be a powerful tool alongside SEL initiatives for helping students of all ages be their best selves.

You can learn more about Yoga in Classrooms and Schools Consulting and view all of their offerings (including an exciting student workshop that helps students use yoga and journaling as tools for inspiration!) by checking out their page in our Arts Directory.
