Here at Arts Every Day, we believe that the arts belong in every school. We are thrilled to report that Baltimore City Public Schools has hired over 60 new certified arts teachers for the 2019-20 school year! This is a critical first step in the implementation of the Baltimore City Fine Arts Plan and the districts goal of ensuring every student has access to visual art and music instruction by 2022.
In partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, T. Rowe Price Foundation, MECU Credit Union and the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, here are just a few ways that Arts Every Day is supporting Baltimore City Public Schools:
The Arts Challenge Fund is open and accepting applications! Schools that increased their access to the arts by adding a certified arts educator to their school for the 2019-2020 school year are eligible to apply for up to $2,500 in arts supplies, tools, and repairs. Eligible schools can also apply for a special ukulele package.

In partnership with the Baltimore City Fine Arts Office, AED will launch the Teach Learn Connect Professional Learning Community to support new arts teachers. Arts teachers in their first three years in Baltimore City Public Schools are encouraged to apply here.

Arts Every Day is developing a cadre of digital resources for Visual Art Teachers to learn and share skills through the crafting of Jumprope videos and the Baltimore Artist Series to connect arts classrooms to Baltimore’s local artists.
