SUMMARY:Arts-based Strategies for Supporting Queer Students
DESCRIPTION:Please join AED and The Walters Museum for an in-person educator professional development: “Arts-based Strategies for Supporting Queer Students” presented by Weiwen Balter of The Walters Art Museum. This PD will build awareness around Queer identities\, explore strategies for cross-community dialogue\, and use a hands-on art-making activity to demonstrate SEL skills for students coping with societal stressors. This session is intended for middle and high school teachers. Participants will walk away with knowledge on how to engage students in discussion across social identities\, and how to use art to assist Queer students in building coping skills. \nLight refreshments will be provided. Registration is capped at 30 educators due to space. This workshop is geared towards middle and high school educators\, though educators of all grade levels are welcome.

SUMMARY:Courting Art Baltimore- All Submissions Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Join Arts Every Day as we celebrate all the submissions for this year’s Courting Art Baltimore contest!  On Thursday\, April 18\, we will host a reception showcasing every piece that was entered into the contest.  The work will be on view from April 15-19.  A panel of jurors will then choose a number of finalists to go on to be considered for permanent display at the Eastside District Courthouse and be eligible for CollegeBound Scholarships.
