Through media arts education, Wide Angle Youth Media collaborates with and amplifies the voices of Baltimore youth to engage audiences across social divides. Our programs inspire creativity and instill confidence in young people, supporting them to navigate school, career, and life. Since 2000, Wide Angle Youth Media has worked with over 8,295 youth from across Baltimore City who have produced thousands of media projects about their lives and communities.
Why should teachers and students be excited about your program?
Wide Angle offers flexible and fun media making workshops for middle and high school students. Wide Angle’s programs offer opportunities to explore your creative side through various interactive activities led by skilled media instructors. Each workshop is developed to suit the academic and social-emotional needs of specific age groups, and to complement group sessions with independent learning. We offer classes on various days to help you find a time and medium to cultivate your creative passions, regardless of your schedule.
Why should teachers and students be excited about your program?
Ms. Baker fosters an inclusive, emotionally safe environment that nurtures the developmental needs of each youth she works with. Her magnetic personality, warmth, and optimistic outlook are welcomed by both students and educators alike. With adept classroom management skills, she effortlessly establishes expectations, routines, and authentic connections.
Students really enjoy working toward Squad Goals and earning tokens and power-ups. It’s wonderful incentive and serves as a reminder that they have a goal they are working towards.
