Next up in our Arts + Culture Partners Spotlight series, we’re featuring Creative Nomads! Creative Nomads uplifts, educates, and connects youth, families, and arts entrepreneurs through art, music, and cultural programming. Based in Baltimore and celebrating 10 years of impact, they provide hands-on arts experiences like murals, drumming, dance, yoga, and family paint workshops that build family and community bonds. Their mission is to ensure equal access to the arts for all.
Why should teachers and students be excited about your program?
Teachers and students should be excited about Creative Nomads because our programs are designed to spark joy, creativity, and connection in every participant. We bring artists directly into classrooms and community spaces, making art accessible, relevant, and collaborative. Whether it’s painting a mural that transforms a neighborhood, learning mindfulness through yoga, or exploring rhythm with our Drumming with Dad program, we create experiences that connect young people to their creativity, families, and community.
Our teaching artists are not only skilled in their craft but also in building meaningful connections with students. Programs like Paint + Pages combine literacy with visual art, while Community Paint and Family Paint invites everyone to co-create large-scale public art pieces that leave a lasting legacy. Students gain confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of ownership in the spaces they live and learn in.
By engaging with Creative Nomads, teachers can count on high-quality arts instruction that nurtures social-emotional development. Students will see themselves reflected in the art, stories, and traditions we uplift—making the learning experience both powerful and fun.
Is there a particular program you would like to highlight? What makes it special?
One of Creative Nomads’ signature programs is Family Paint and Paint + Pages which bring parents, caregivers, and children together in creative exploration of visual arts and books. Families work side by side to paint canvases, sometimes paired with storybooks, cultivating both artistic and literacy skills while strengthening bonds across generations.
Another highlight is Drumming One On One, a program that combines rhythm, and movement. Children connect through drumming circles, building confidence, communication skills, and lasting memories. Complementary programs like Drumming With Dad, Mindfulness with Mom and Youth Yoga encourage wellness, grounding, and self-expression.
Together, these programs create pathways for students to explore creativity, develop social-emotional learning skills, and engage with their community in meaningful ways. Teachers and schools benefit from programming that is flexible, culturally responsive, and aligned with academic and personal growth outcomes.
